Spaceful has received two Silver awards at the 2026 BETTER FUTURE Sydney Design Awards for the new Sydney workplaces of Jemena and Vantive.
The awards recognise projects that demonstrate strong outcomes across areas including planning, functionality, materials, building services and the overall experience of the space.
While the two projects responded to very different briefs, both demonstrate the value of aligning workplace strategy, design and delivery with what the business needs to achieve.
Jemena Sydney Workplace
Jemena’s 2,225 sqm workplace at Liberty Place brought teams together from a fragmented, under-utilised environment into a more cohesive workplace designed around complex operational requirements and employee experience.
Spaceful integrated secure operational zones, specialist technology and infrastructure with spaces supporting focus, collaboration, wellbeing and connection. A central breakout area overlooking Hyde Park provides a shared destination for employees, while the broader planning supports the business’s round-the-clock operational requirements.
Within two weeks of moving into the new workplace, Jemena recorded a 50% increase in employee presence.
Vantive Sydney Workplace
Vantive’s North Sydney workplace was created as the healthcare business established an independent identity and relocated from Toongabbie to VicX Tower.
The workplace centres on connection, flexibility and care, with a central kitchen and breakout area reflecting the importance of shared meals and informal interaction to Vantive’s culture. A mix of focus, collaboration and multipurpose settings gives employees greater choice while allowing the workplace to adapt as the business evolves.
Michael Spinoglio, Design Director at Spaceful, said:
“Jemena and Vantive had very different business needs, and that shaped every part of these projects. For us, good workplace design starts with understanding those needs and carrying them consistently through design and delivery. To have both projects recognised at Better Future’s Sydney Design Awards is a great acknowledgement of that approach.”
